Lachlan is no stranger to the alternative real estate sector. Before joining Compass Communities as Chief Operating Officer, Lachlan spent over 35 years working on everything from marinas and RV resorts to residential land lease communities. For the past 13 years, he has focused on the land lease housing industry, combining his expertise in business development, asset management, and operations. Lachlan takes great pride in leading teams that make a tangible difference in people’s lives through quality housing and community living. When he’s not helping Canadians find their new home, you can find Lachlan cycling, running, or kicking back and relaxing with a good historical fiction novel.

As Chief Digital Officer at Compass, Jayashri is dedicated to enhancing the resident experience by streamlining processes and improving communication. Although she is new to the manufactured housing industry, her extensive background spans manufacturing, private equity, and both commercial and residential real estate. Jayashri specializes in IT infrastructure, business process optimization, data analytics, and technology integration, leveraging these skills to create solutions that better serve Compass communities. Passionate about technology, she loves discussing its potential to transform the way we manage everyday tasks. Outside of work, Jayashri enjoys swimming, hiking, and the sense of accomplishment that comes from ticking off items on her to-do list. 

Armon Emdad is a seasoned real estate finance and investments executive who’s been a driving force in the manufactured housing (MHC) sector since 2017. At Compass, Armon is the brains behind building tools, systems and data products to better serve our stakeholders. Never shying away from a challenge, he’s always looking to identify areas of our business that can be optimized. He likes to challenge himself in his personal life, too, where you can often find him running trails, rock- or ice-climbing or dog-whispering his 7 year-old Doberman. When he does take a breather, he loves spending time with his kids, watching Premier League and chasing sunsets with his wife. 

With 17 years of experience in property accounting, Jerry has gone from mentee to mentor in the industry, building his knowledge of the commercial, multi-residential and manufactured housing (MHC) sectors at every step along the way. He’s heavily involved in the satisfaction of both our residents and our stakeholders, splitting his day-to-day between leading our accounting professionals and helping our operations team improve our communities. Equally as adept in the kitchen as he is in the office, Jerry once ran his own restaurant that was awarded the best pulled pork sandwiches in the city by a community newspaper. In addition to his love of cooking Jerry also enjoys talking about football, especially the Buffalo Bills.

Rhys Shields is Director of Investments at Compass Communities, where he drives portfolio growth through strategic acquisitions that strengthen market position and enhance the resident experience. His career spans senior management and ownership roles in real estate, finance, and construction, complemented by experience as both an investment sales broker and principal investor. This background underpins a disciplined approach to acquiring communities that deliver operational excellence, preserve affordability, and improve quality of life. Outside of work, Rhys is equally driven - whether traveling, skiing, or on the court with a racket in hand but finds his greatest joy in time spent with his wife, daughter, and two dogs exploring the outdoors together.
